OPEN WATER FREEDIVER INSTRUCTOR
The intent of the RAID Freediving Instructor Trainer program is to provide candidates with the knowledge, teaching and practical skills to successfully develop RAID Freediving Instructor candidates at all levels.

Instructor
There are three certification levels within the Instructor Trainer program:
- RAID Freediving Instructor Trainer
- RAID Advanced Freediving Instructor Trainer
- RAID Master Freediving Instructor Trainer
This program may only be conducted by appointment from RAID HQ. An appointed RAID examiner is to directly supervise and evaluate all required knowledge for the core certification. Only a RAID Freediving Examiner can evaluate the in-water skills section of the RAID Freediving Instructor Trainer course.
Content
The RAID Freediving Instructor Trainer Program is taught by online theory, and all required information is contained in the online training manuals for RAID Instructor Development Program and in the student and Instructor manuals for each RAID freediver level. All practical performance criteria and skills descriptions are in the RAID Freediving Instructor manuals and expanded in the RAID Instructor Development Program.
Prerequisites For RAID Freediving Instructor Trainer
- Be at least 21 years old.
- Have a current medical exam for
- diving not older than 6 months and signed by a licensed medical practitioner.
- Be certified as an active RAID Freediving Instructor or equivalent.
Have issued:
- A minimum of 70 Open Water Freediver certifications (NOT Foundation).
OR
- A minimum of 40 Open Water Freediver certifications (NOT Foundation) and 30 pool speciality certifications, of which at least 15 must be the static speciality.
- Be actively teaching for at least 1 year.
- Have no ethics or Standards violation pending or any verified ethics or Standards violations in the past 12 months with RAID or any other training organization.
- Submit a written application to RAID for approval.
