INSTRUCTOR OPEN CIRCUIT

This course is designed to provide an independent assessment of individuals who have completed and passed the RAID Instructor Development Program (IDP) so they may earn accreditation as RAID Open Circuit instructors.

Prerequisites For Instructors

A candidate eligible for this examination must:

  • Have successfully passed and been certified on their IDP.
  • Submit a copy of diving instructor liability insurance, where applicable.
  • Submit a Medical Statement signed by a licensed medical practitioner within the past 6 months, stating he or she is fit to dive.

Instructor Development Program

This program is designed to prepare candidates to earn professional instructor credentials via access to a RAID Instructor Evaluation.

Prerequisites For Instructors

A candidate interested in taking this program must:

  • Be a RAID Divemaster or equivalent from a recognized training agency prior to certification.
  • Be a minimum of 18 years old.
  • Have been a certified diver for a minimum of 6 months.
  • Submit proof of certification as a RAID Nitrox diver, RAID Deep 40 diver, from a recognized training agency.
  • Have experience in Night and Navigation dives (Suggested Certifications)
  • Submit proof of a minimum of 100 logged underwater hours or 200 logged dives.
  • Submit proof of certification in First Aid Instructor and Oxygen Administration Instructor.

If the candidate does NOT possess these two prerequisites:

    • He MUST have first aid and oxygen administration diver certifications.
    • Before earning an IDP Certification, the Candidate must be certified as a First Aid and Oxygen Administration Instructor.
    • In this case the Instructor Specialty program/s can be held, before, during or after completion of the IDP course.
    • The additional time required to complete these programs will be added to the IDP course time requirements.
  • Submit a medical signed by a Licensed Medical Practitioner within the previous 12 months stating the holder is fit to dive.
  • Submit a copy of diving instructor liability insurance, where applicable.

To get started, all you need to do is register with RAID and create an online profile by clicking here. Once registered, you can purchase the course online in our “Store”, and then start reading the manuals and complete the quiz and exam. Once registered, you will have immediate access to RAID’s unique FREe-Learning platform, where you can download your course and start your academic training immediately. FREe-Learning allows you to download the manuals and complete all the associated quizzes. Once you have done this, you will need to contact your local RAID Dive Center to schedule your course and let them guide you through the training process. Once you have agreed all associated fees, your dive center will open the full training program so that you can complete any exams, have all your skills signed off, and receive your electronic certification card. Your RAID online course includes all your training materials, which you can access for life. Upon completion, your internationally recognized electronic certification will be issued.
